Ways to Give
Through the Baptist Retirement Homes Foundation (BRH Foundation), donors are able to make significant planned gifts that benefit the benevolent care ministry of Baptist Retirement Homes. BRH Foundation works with donors to create gifts via wills, named endowments, charitable trusts and charitable gift annuities. A brief description of these planned gifts is provided below.Click Here to Make an Online Donation
BequestsBy naming BRH Foundation as a beneficiary of your will, it not only costs nothing to you but can also significantly reduce the real estate tax for your heirs. Our staff will be happy to work with you and your advisors to create the proper language to leave a meaningful bequest to ensure that our benevolent care work continues.
Named EndowmentsThe funds are established for the purpose of providing support for people, programs and facilities in perpetuity. The principle of an endowment gift is invested by BRH Foundation, and a portion of the annual interest earned is used to support the purpose selected by the donor.
Property GiftsWhether a principal residence, vacation home, farm, commercial building, subdivision lot, or land, you may gift the property or a fractional interest in the property to our BRH Foundation. Doing this will allow you to claim a charitable tax deduction for the full fair market value of the real estate while avoiding capital gains taxes on appreciation. All real estate gifts require prior approval by Baptist Retirement Homes Executive Management.
Cash GiftsQuick and simple, you may use your credit card to make a gift online or donate over the phone, by mail, or wire transfer.
Gifts of Stock or SecuritiesGifts of appreciated shares of marketable securities are valuable for allowing BRH Foundation to continue its mission while serving as a significant tax advantage for you.
Charitable Gift AnnuitiesA charitable gift annuity is similar to a charitable remainder trust but is much simpler in concept and function. A charitable gift annuity provides a donor with a nice charitable tax deduction and a life income stream that can range from 5% to over 10% based upon the age of the donor. All charitable gift annuities require approval by Baptist Retirement Homes Executive Management.
Life Insurance GiftsMake a large gift with very little cost. By making BRH Foundation the beneficiary of a life insurance policy, you receive immediate and future income tax deductions for the total premiums paid or the fair market value of the policy.
IRA Charitable RolloversIf you are at least six months over 70, directly transfer up to $100,000 per year tax free from your IRA account to BRH Foundation.
